Is Najem free?
Yes, Najem is completely free. It needs no sign-up and no credit card. All you need is the Telegram app, because Najem runs inside it as a bot, so there is no new app to install.
How do I start using Najem on Telegram?
You start with Najem in three steps: choose the curriculum, Muslim Scouts or Lebanese Scouting; open the bot on Telegram; then describe your activity. If you are not sure how to word your request, use the prompt generator on Najem's website. It asks for the goal, age stage, group size and place, and has templates for a camp, service project, leadership course and campfire.
Who is Najem for?
Najem is for scout leaders in the Arab world, especially those working with the Muslim Scouts or Lebanese Scouting curriculum. It has assistants for each age stage: Cubs and Girl Cubs, Scouts and Guides, and Rovers. It also has assistants for the troop administrator, a commissioner's advisor for strategic goals and indicators, and leader training, including Wood Badge preparation.
Can I add Najem to my leaders' Telegram group?
Yes. Najem can be added to the leaders' Telegram group as an admin, so the whole group can ask it questions and generate activities together. We prefer that leaders discuss a plan among themselves before adopting it, because sitting together around the plan is part of building a team.
Does a Najem plan replace the leader's experience?
No. A plan generated by Najem does not replace the leader's experience, supervision or field safety rules, and Najem's website says so. Review every plan, adjust it to your kids, your place and the weather, and apply the safety rules your troop follows.
