Frequently asked questions
What is the ScoutQuest game?
ScoutQuest is an interactive scouting game from ScoutHub Lab that runs on the web. Scouts learn by playing: they answer questions, earn points and badges, take a daily challenge and compete with friends head to head. The game's motto is “Discover. Learn. Challenge. Win!”
How many questions does ScoutQuest have, and on what topics?
ScoutQuest has 1,056 questions across 8 knowledge categories, ranging from first aid to leadership. Scouts move through these categories in the solo path, the daily challenge and duels, so they review their scouting knowledge while they play.
How do you play ScoutQuest?
ScoutQuest has several ways to play. The solo path has levels and badges. The daily challenge has 20 questions and tracks streaks. The arena gives 10 questions with 15 seconds each. There is also a live duel with a friend, and a leaderboard that shows players' rankings.
Can I play ScoutQuest with a friend?
Yes. ScoutQuest has a live duel mode: you invite a friend through a WhatsApp link and you compete head to head on the same questions. There is also an arena with 10 questions, 15 seconds each, and a leaderboard.
Does ScoutQuest only train memorization?
To be honest, a quiz game like ScoutQuest can end up training recall only. “What color is the Cubs' scarf?” is a memory question. “Your patrol is lost in the woods with one hour of daylight left. What are your first three steps?” makes a scout think and set priorities. We are working on adding more of the second kind.
